Hi! I'd have to say that my favorite rebates are the monthly Walgreens rebates. They can easily be redeemed on their website, and you receive the $$ back as a gift card. I then use that gift card to purchase the next month's rebate items. It's like a continual flow of free items each month! :)

I have just started. The rebates I have done are Walgreens and Rite Aid. I like these because they are really easy. My mom did rebates when I was young and I remember getting all kinds of free stuff. I hoping to do more and more.

Just read the fine print and follow the directions. If you get a rebate returned, always call the number listed on the card/letter. Most of the time you will get the rebate, because of processor error.

I love rebates. I use all the money I get from rebates and put it in my Christmas fund this way next year I will have money for Christmas and not have to worry. I do not normally base things off of my rebate for my cost because it is going into savings. I love all rebates! As long as it is worth it, and i get more back then the stamp i have to pay for I send it on its way to the rebate fairy!!

I keep a list of items that I have a rebate in my purse, so that every time I'm at a store I can get it. Then I fill everything out and mail it as soon as I get home.
I keep a list of what rebates I have turned in, along with a copy of my receipts and forms that I mailed, just in case there is a problem. I found an awesome from Michael Angelo's the other day. Serve up to 6 single serve entrees as a lunch for your friends, fill out form, receipts and UPC, and they'll pay for it!!
Make sure you follow the directions exactly.
My favorite rebates are thw Walgreen's because you can enter them online and have it posted to your giftcard (nothing to mail and nothing to wait for).

The Walgreens rebates are the best! I use coupons toward the product & wind up getting money back from Walgreens!
I use rebates with coupons. I keep a log when the rebate should me sent to me and check it off when the money is received. This way I know which ones I have used.
The first thing I do is fill out the form and make a copy.
Then make a copy of the receipt.
Then cut out the bar code (usually needed) and make a copy.
I do all this asap so I don't forget or lose anything. I love doing rebates. It feels great when that check comes in the mail.
I hate doing rebates because I always forget to send them in, that's why I usually just stick to Walgreens because you can submit the rebate online and have it added to a Walgreens card (plus 10%, so when I only pay 7% in taxes - i actually make 3%) - works good for me!

My tip is to take care of rebates immediately after purchase. If you put it aside, it's likely to be forgotten or receipts lost. Make copies before sending it in and mail promptly.
I have just started couponing this week. I have used rebates before, but I plan on using some from Walgreens and rite aid this week.

I don't find many rebates in my area, but try to send them off as soon as I can after buying the required item--otherwise I forget about it, or lose the register tape, etc.
The trick for me is to take care of them right away or I have a tendency to let them expire before I get around to them. I know, it's sad, that's why I do them the minute I have everything I need in hand.
I agree that Walgreens is by far the best and easiest rebates around. The booklet has a checklist so you can shop and check off what you are buying and getting a rebate for. I use the gift cards I get back to shop for the next months rebate items.
For rebates in the grocery or other stores I keep copies of everything in an envelope so I have a record of what should be coming and I check it off when the check arrives in the mail. It is important to read the directions carefully and include all the proper documents and receipts, especially for big rebates on large purchase items.
I make copies of all information submitted and put a reminder in my yahoo calendar to follow up if rebate is not received in allowed time. Sometimes calling and mentioning that you have copies is enough to get them to "find" your submission.
I keep records of the rebates I have sent in and follow directions carefully.

Usually when I do rebates, it's most often for electronic items or computer components... Manufacturers often offer a rebate as an incentive to purchase. One thing I know about rebates is that you should always be swift about sending in the required stuff to get the rebates, as there is usually a time limit.

I get some good deals using the Rite Aid and Dollar General Rebates. Make copies of your forms.
I bought a Pandigital Digital Picture frame and had to call to see where my rebate was. I had purchased it at Kohl's and luckily still had the receipt
When I do a rebate. I will fill out the paperwork and envie before I go to the store. Then, when I come home with the item I remove the upc code if needed and get that baby in the mail that day.

Walgreens rebates are the easiest. I always enter the information online as soon as I get home from a rebate earning shopping trip. For mail-in rebates, I make sure I follow the directions exactly. Then I scan all items included(form, receipt, UPCs) and put a copy in my coupon binder until I receive the rebate.
I love Walgreens rebate program. One tip I have learned (by trial and error) is when I buy something that has a rebate for it, I write on the top of my receipt "REBATE". I also put a check mark on the receipt # at the top after I enter the rebate online. Saves me headaches. Thanks!
Unfortunately, I have never really gotten into rebates except your Lowes home delivery and cell phone rebates. I am trying ot get better at keeping my eye out for them.
Recently I found rebates good to get more coupons. I hope I have more success in the future.

I like to fill out all the paperwork and prep my rebate for the mail as soon as I get home from the store. Otherwise, I run the risk of forgetting. Staples actually prints the form and a separate "rebate receipt" for submission, which makes the task so much easier!
I haven't done to much with rebates lately, but I like Walgreens (online) and Rite Aid, where you can just do it once a month.
I make it a point to file my rebates the minute I get home while they are still fresh on my mind. Mail in rebates go on my "launch pad" by the door and Wags rebates are filed online!

I love the walgreens rebates. Like others have said because they are so easy. I think if i had to mail in them all I would never get around to it. and the 10% bonus i get for choosing a gift card is great.

I just actually did my first Rite Aid rebate request online the other day! My tip would be to do it right away so you don't forget like I almost did! LOL
I like Walgreens rebates the best, since you can use Register Rewards to make your purchases and you can get a 10% bonus by getting the rebate on a gift card. I also love that I can enter it all online without having to remember to gather everything to send in by a certain date.

I am just moving on from just CVS to Rite Aid and Walgreens as well, so I am just starting to do some rebates. In general, the only ones I do are ones that can be done online. I just don't remember to take the time to do the main-in ones, and I don't like having the money missing from my budget for 6 or 8 weeks.
But I am open to doing more. I'm anxious to hear other's tips.

I actually just steer clear of rebates. They seem way to difficult for busy people. Plus, it's still money OOP before the rebate. I have thought about trying it but I've never been able to justify it being worth the effort.

make a copy of all information sending in. I keep a copy in a folder marked rebates by the computer.Make sure you follow up on them, if they have a website you cna follow up on make sure you do and then write the status and dated you checked on
For manufacturer rebates, I have a designated folder/pocket page in my coupon binder. After I complete the rebate offer, I make a copy of it. I write on the copy the date that I mailed in the rebate, and how long it is supposed to take - so that I know when to expect my check. If there is a problem, I have my copy to clear up discrepancies. When I receive the check in the mail, I just throw the copy away.
For store rebates I prefer Walgreens because they just load up my gift card and there is not a trip to the bank involved. (I only have Rite Aid and Wags to shop at).

I generally don't like rebates, but when I do participate in them, I am sure to send them off immediately so I don't have to remember later. I'm also careful to read the rebates before I decide to buy. I can't stand when there is small print in a rebate offer and I don't notice until I get home and find I don't qualify. Walgreens is definitely my favorite for the reloadable gift card (with a 2% bonus).

my favorite place for rebates is walgreens....but only since they have gone to internet filing! i am terrible with filling out forms, going to the post office, actually having a stamp (!) ......i have been known to make all the correct purchases, keep the receipt, cut out the proof of purchase , put them in an envelope and not have a stamp.....put it in my purse where it lives for many many months after the send in date......and NO REBATE!
with walgreens.....i make my purchases.....go home and put the info on the computer that day.....and voila.....have the nice little monthly rebate put on my gift card! such an easy system......just wish cvs did it this way too! with the ebs etc......i frequently forget to use them or roll them before they expire.....thus lost forever!
wish other big companies like kraft etc would institute systems to apply for rebates online too! so much easier.....and i am more likely to do it!

I have a file made for rebates where I keep all the information of each rebate. Name of rebate, address, date sent, amount etc. I make copies of all the paperwork that I send in which I keep in a paper folder. This has paid off when Office Depot entered the wrong form number for a rebate I sent in. It was corrected while we were on the phone and I didn't have to send any copies in. When I receive the rebate, I get rid of the paper copy and enter the date received on the computer so that it is closed out.

How do I handle rebates. I have a couple of files. One for any rebate forms I find and I include things I need (ex. receipts, UPC) as I get them. I keep a list in my purse of the rebates I have so if I find a special on any of those items. Once completed I copy all the information before I send it and transfer it to another folder - I have a sheet that I list the rebate and date sent. Once I receive the rebate I mark the date received and throw all copies away.

I mainly do Walgreens and Riteaid rebates because they are so easy to do and require no postage. I've also learned (the hard way) to save ALL receipts in a file folder, not because of the rebates being lost but because of additional rebates I've missed out on because I thought I was done with the receipt. For example, I opened a "free" box of cold medicine and found another rebate form to get another $3.00 back. If I had saved the receipt I could have redeemed that rebate as well.

Walgreens rebates are the best to keep track of because it is all online. The rest I keep track of on a clip board, but from these comments I learned about scanning the form and receipts and upcs. That is a great way to do things!

The biggest thing that helps me with rebates is to A) make copies of everything. This makes sure I have all documentation for my records should I need it. It also helps to remind me that I should have a rebate coming in. And B) Send them off ASAP. If I don't send them off almost immediately, I tend to forget about them until it's too late. This is the type of thing they're counting on... so don't forget to send them in!
I've stopped doing rebates, unless they're for big amounts off, like $25 or $50. The little ones just seem like way too much hassle!
My husband loves rite aid...sometimes they give him more than he thought he should get.

I haven't received anything back yet as it hasn't been long enough... but I did realize too late that I forgot to make photo copies of everything for my own records... hope I don't end up needing them!

I say always make photocopy of what you are sending in and keep it on file so you'll have record of what you sent. Then mark your calendar for the approx. date you can start looking for it to return.

The only rebates I send in are the biggies...like the ones for Turbo Tax, cell phones. I simply photo copy all the paperwork and paperclip it, stick it in my receipts pile and shred it once my rebate comes in the mail.

Also, I re-read the instructions 2-3 times to make sure I'm doing everything correctly. My favorite rebate store is Circuit City (RIP). Instead of making copies of my rebates, I just scan them into my computer. That way I can print it off if I need to in the future, or I can also email it to a company.
Best Buy is my favorite store for large purchase rebates. We send them in as soon as we get them. That way we don't forget or lose the forms. I also copy everything in case there is a problem. I store everything in a special folder, that way I can find whatever I need quickly.

I generally cringe when it comes to submitting rebates unless it is a prescription rebate. They are often high dollar rebates and often good money makers! Check with the drug companies to see if your RX's are eligible. Turn around time is generally no more than 2 weeks. It's sure is nice when those checks come in.

I love the Walgreen's rebate. It is easy to do online, get a gift card and just continue to refill it as I purchase next month items.
I enter rebates that I am waiting for in my planner. Then I can follow up on it in a timely manner. I keep my rebate copy/information in the same place I keep my bills waitiing to be paid, so I have a rebular reminder there as well.
My husband does most of our rebates. He is very careful to follow the rebate directions exactly so it will not be rejected.
Walgreens is the best when it comes to rebates. They let you do everything online, you don't have to mail anything, and you can get an extra 10 percent if you accept a Walgreens gift card instead of a rebate check.

I love Menards rebates. They give you an extra receipt and the number of the rebate form, which you can find in front of the service desk.
My rebates primarily come from Rite-Aid, where they have a monthly "single check rebate" system. It's easy to enter the requested info from the receipt(s) online, they confirm your eligibility and let you know when they've processed the rebate, then they send a check (which I prefer to a gift card). I'm afraid i don't bother with small rebates. For other large ones (say, $10 back on printer ink) I just mail them out one at a time, keeping notes on each until I have the checks in hand.

The easiest rebates are the ones you can do online. The secret with any rebate is to keep a record (I list mine in a notebook), and call about it if it doesn't arrive in the time frame listed on the rebate. Double check that you have included all required items. Circle appropriate info on sales receipts. I prefer to receive cash/check over a gift card.

Actually, I am a rebate newbie. The last few weeks I have been reading all about how you guys get great deals with rebates, rewards, and coupons and I am trying to catch up. This month I got the Revlon makeup and refilled my ink cartridge, all with complete rebates from Walgreens. I will be sending in my forms tonight. I am hoping to cut down on our grocery and household budgets.
I like to use the beer rebates. Be hardly ever buy beer, but its a way for my hubby to have snackies like chips and dips when he watches the fb games, since we wouldn't normally buy them.

Definitely make photocopies of your rebates so you can remind yourself to check up on them. And process the rebates immediately so you don't forget!
I'm not real frugal with rebate but have vowed to be more diligent. A couple that I have used were with Verizon Wireless after purchasing my daughter's phones for Christmas. I can say the rebate process was very smooth and easy to follow. The most important part of the process was reading the instructions and not getting ahead of what you were required so you didn't miss a step and void the rebate.
I always read all the directions and I love it when they have online submissions. Rite Aid and Walgreens are the best for rebates with monthly usable items.

I don't usually do many rebates just because it can be a pain - except for Walgreens, I love their on-line rebating now. When I do send them in I try to remember to write down when I sent it in.
I find the Rite Aid system very easy to use. You can do everything online and the checks come quickly.
I always do the rebate as soon as I get the product and necessary stuff for it. I always make a copy of the information if it has to be mailed in. Then I keep a list of rebates I have sent for, the date I mailed it, and the estimated time to get the rebate check. It has saved me from doing all the work and then forgeting to follow up. I also check online for rebates on large ticket items prior to purchasing. Sometimes this does determine what I purchase!
Walgreens is my favorite for rebates. I like that you get a bonus if you get the credit on a gift card. My strategy? I just do the paperwork that night. In the beginning I missed one and I wasted a lot of money. I will NEVER do that again! :)

Rite-Aid has the easiest and best rebates.
I usually only do rebates at Christmas. As soon as I get home everything gets scanned and goes into my Outlook Calendar for easy tracking.
I prefer the mail-in rebates. As soon as I get the item, I put everything together, make a copy for myself and get it in the mail within a day or so.
I love all the ECB from CVS, but I don't shop there that often, and they wind up expiring before I use them.
Would like them to store them like Martins, on your card, and they can just take the discount automatically when you scan your card.
I used to keep paper copies of my rebate submissions - now I have a more efficient system: every time I submit a rebate by mail, I scan all the originals and save them in a Rebates folder on my computer, with the date that I mailed it. Then, when I receive it, I move the file to a Rebates Received folder. That way it is very easy to see what rebates I am still waiting on and how long it's been. My favorite rebates are the online submissions to Rite Aid and Walgreens because then I do not need to mail anything - and can still use the receipts for a manufacturer rebate, in case there is one.
Be sure to make copies of every rebate form you fill out, and receipts. I keep those filed in case anything goes wrong!

I love Rite Aid's rebate system. You can just enter your receipts online, and they automatically check to see if you bought products with rebates. You can request a check online too. Very simple process!

i love rebate systems! walgreens and rite aid are the ones i take the most advantage of! they allow you to have money in your pocket once it comes back which kind of keeps you from spending it on junk before.

Great subject of the week. Rebates are an easy way to get "free" things. When i come across a rebate, I put the name of the rebate on an envelope and notes on the outside of what i need to complete. Once I have receipt, bar codes, and anything else required, make a copy of everything, put date mailed original and file in waiting. When I receive the rebate pull papers from waiting folder, move to closed folder. My favorite store is Walgreen for rebates. They make is so easy and really do all the work for you. Don't submit their rebates by mail, do it online on their giftcards and get an extra 10% and possibly use your original receipt for a rebate on the same item just a different source. My favorite rebate lately has been orajel where you could get money back from Walgreens and Orajel making it a total money maker.

I turn in a lot of wine rebates from my local grocery store (Bag & Save) and the liquor department always gives me duplicate reciepts on request. I just purchased some riesling over the holidays which will be only $2.14 a bottle after I get my rebate money!

One step I always follow for mail-in rebates is to purchase the item by itself so I only have it on a receipt. I complete the rebates form with a black ballpoint pen in block print, no cursive writing. Ditto for the envelope. Above all else, I mail the envelope at least 3 days before the "post by date" required for the rebate. I will also either make a copy of, take a picture of or scan a copy of the envelope, completed rebate form and receipt just in case my original mailing gets lost. Lastly I'll mark on my calendar when the rebate should arrive so I don't forget about it.
You mentioned Rite Aid for a favorite store. For me, its one of my favorite stores for rebates. They offer several good rebates each month, which give you an opportunity to try a product risk free. Aaaaaaaaaaand, they make it super easy to get your rebate by doing it all online.
I make sure and read the fine print. sometimes you have to buy everything at once and other time not so you need to know the terms.
I like Walgreens since I can do it all online. I also like that because sometime I can take advantage of a double rebate (manufacturers and walgreens) so I can make money on it.

Behr paint has a $5 rebate on a gallon of paint, $20 on a 5 gallon, that's when I like to stock up.

I love rebates. I especially like the ease of the Walgreen's rebate. I find it to be the most user friendly rebate program out there. Keep an eye out in your weekly newspaper ads for rebates. Sometimes companies put their rebates right in with their coupons.
RITEAID, WALGREENS, SAVE THE RECEIPTS, ONCE A MONTH SUBMIT THEM ON LINE AS PER STORE POLICY AND THRU THE YEAR YOU WILL SAVE A LOT IN GETTING MONEY BACK ON THE "SPECIALS". EASY WAY TO SAVE.

Definitely Walgreens. Super easy and if you get the gift card, you get and extra 10% tacked on to your rebate. How cool is that?
I always photocopy everything -- the form, the receipt, proofs of purchase, even the addressed envelope, so I have a record of everything. I write the date on the photocopy, and if there's more than one page, I staple them together. That way I have every scrap of information about what I sent, where I sent it, and how to contact the company to check on the status. When the rebate arrives, I recycle the paperwork.
my best tip is to follow all directions EXACTLY as stated, and to make a copy of everything you submit (if submitting by mail).
I take screenshots of everything, and then leave them on my desktop until they are completed.
I use Walgreens online rebates and enter items as I buy them. But I usually don't get every item in one trip. So I also put a note in with my bills so I remember to do the end-of-month processing to ensure I get a gift card instead of a check. Treating the rebate like it's a bill helps to get it in on time.
As long as I can do it online, I think rebates are great. If it has to be mailed - not worth the effort

I'm gonna have to go with Walgreens, because not only do they give you a giftcard to re-load, they also give you an additional 10% on top of what you are submitting in for a rebate. And if that wasn't enough, they made it easy to process rebates by giving you the option of entering in your rebates online! Gotta love it!

I always scan everything with our scanner before I send it off so that I have a digital backup. Then I make sure that if I don't hear from the company promptly, I can call their customer service.
The best company I know of for rebates is Staples. You can file for rebates online, combine the rebates for one cash card, and I've always received mine within about four weeks after I filed. Thanks

I am in agreement with Walgreens being the best by far as it is easy to do online and keep track of. The key is immediate follow thru to obtain your rebate!
I use coupons all the time. For groceries , eating out , vacation you name it if I can find a coupon I will. I don't do as many rebates as I would like as I am still organizing and finding time. I work 4 --10 hr days so.. I am looking in to ways other do the rebate thing and hopefully will get better at it

I do the monthly rebates at Walgreens and love that you are able to do them online. I keep an envelope with my coupons for receipts to use for rebates.
I try to use a coupon with my rebates, then the stamp even gets paid for. I think it is important to fill in the form, make copies and get it right in the mail or it gets lost in the shuffle. I have a Expanding file for important things by date. So I can follow up when I need to.

Also I have a notebook where I write in the rebate and the date sent in. Then I mark off the rebates when I receive them. Not to be a copycat, but I do the same as alot of posters on here - I love Walgreens between the sales and the rebates and the fact that they are great for giving out rainchecks, it's the store for savings for me.

Of curse walgreens is my favorite for rebates as I don't even have to mail anything in. what could be easier and it also makes it easy to track your rebates as well as use your receipt for another rebate as well. If only everyone was as easy as walgreens.
We have used rebates for just about everywhere there is, recently my wife got a card that gets rebates from restaurants like ponderosa and garfeilds plus every month there r specials at walmart and kmart.
I love rebates! Walgreens and Rite Aid have been my favortie store because you can enter information online (no stamp to send in), and you don't need to cut upcs. I have also found that usually you can find a mail-in rebate form to use as well. I have therefore, gotten a double rebate off of one purchase. Yeah
The company that I had rebates with the most went out of business - CompUSA. They were terrible with rebates. I had to fight with them every time, and I admit it's made me very leery of rebates!
CompUSA lets me do most of my rebates online...so it's really easy!
When I do rebates, it's always at Walgreens. it's easy and fun to do.
I mail them immediately, or I forget about them! my organization system is all envelopes.... I keep everything I need to have in an envelope until it's ready to be mailed!

I also use the Walgreens online rebate process and get an extra percentage back by putting it on a gift card. My secret rebate weapon, though, is a husband who also loves to find a rebate deal!
I usually just do Rite Aid rebates since they are so easy. I can do everything online and just enter in the numbers. Walgreens is easier now that they allow you to enter online, so I do them occasionally. I like the extra 10% they give, too. I don't do any other rebates since it's too much hassle for me to save UPCs and all that.
I am a big coupon/rebate user! I take most of the health and beauty aids coupons to the dollar stores and most of the time I get the stuff free or pay very little.If shampoo is marked $1.25 I would have a coupon for maybe .50 off and I only pay .75. or if it is $1.00 and the coupon is for a dollar off than I get it free. So I save so much and I make up gift baskets for Birthday or christmas gift for someone who can not afford to buy personal items. Sometimes the dollar stores also have a flyer out to save with rebates also.

I love the Rite Aid rebates that can be entered online immediately -- no more worrying about where I put that receipt later on. Walgreens now lets you enter rebates online as well, and it's super convenient, AND you save the stamp. Now that's frugal!
I usually don't do rebates because I tend to forget to send them although I did a couple of the Rite Aid Single Check Rebates, those were relatively painless.
